Alicia, a born designer, grew up sewing clothes for her dolls. She became the image consultant for her friends and family. Since arriving in NYC, she has designed for Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Nautica. Alicia also volunteers her time as a personal shopper for Dress for Success.
Alicia recently accepted the Accessories Editor position at Kouture Magazine~first issue will hit stands in Summer 2009. She currently maintains a column as the New York Shoe and Accessories Examiner and her second blog Fashiona’s Musings. Alicia is also an associate member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Her first blog, Fashiona~Musings of a Stylish Girl has appeared in the Chicago Sun Times and Reuters multiple times-here is one of her favorites.
“Fashiona” is Alicia’s alter ago.
Alicia accepted her first award for her blog “Fashiona” in September and her second in November 2008 and her third in December 2008. She closed this blog as of April 1,2009.

First of call, I cannot wait to start reading your blog! I am a fellow brown fashionista, and my husband went to NYU for grad school about 2 years ago (we are 26 and 27), but considered Parsons in the whole application process. It’s pretty much the best school you could have gone to for your chosen field, so bravo. I also had a quick question for you regarding the Italian black vogue issue, so do you think you can email me?
