Fashiona,the Masque Search and Barbie
Fashiona took a mini-break from blogging but she is back with lots to say. She is hitting the fashion tents again tomorrow through Friday and will of course bring you her finds.
To recover from her less than stellar day on Friday, she and Topaz went shopping on Saturday to look for masques for Roxie’s Masquerade Ball on February 28th.
Fashiona also bought her first full length gown in about 10 years…BCBG no less. Fashiona prefers cocktail dresses…but dear Topaz (who also waits for the walk sign on cross walks) reminded her that they were going to a Ball…not a cocktail party. Fashiona, who is just a bit stubborn, conceded reluctantly.
Surprisingly, the masque search took much longer than the gown search…they are going for elegant and the shops offered everything from classic to the Venetian masques in Eyes Wide Shut to Madri Gras.
For those who celebrate:
Mardi Gras
is February 24 this year followed by Ash Wednesday.
Back to the New York City Fashion Shows… the Barbie fashion show was the hottest ticket in town.

Those are beautiful! I’ve always wanted to go to a masquerade ball.
Topaz is one smart cookie, safety first!
If you still need a mask here is a great place to go and it located near Parsons. I bought a mask from there a couple of years ago and it is still in good condition. See site -http://www.newyorkcostumes.com/
As your second Stylist you can wear a cocktail dress—Only if it is knee length meaning it has to hit just the top or middle of your knee. Get some gloves if you have it in the budget.
Remember Masquerade Balls can be theatrical.
I’d love to go to a masquerade ball. I have a few masks from my many trips to New Orleans.
I prefer cocktail gowns as well, but I would love to wear a full ball gown too. I think it would be fun to get that fancified.

Ohhh, I saw Topaz’s mask. It was fab. I’m sure you will have a wonderful time in your full length gowns.
Be sure you don’t have beads at the bottom like those silly ladies who fall on the Oscars every year. He He.
