Fashiona on 2008 Fashion~Part 4~Best Trends of the Year
In today’s final nod to 2008, Fashiona will recap the year’s best trends.
Only the frivolous fashion industry would attempt to dress up anyone and everything. While Fashiona shakes her head in disgust frowns upon doggie bikinis, she loves the new trend in teeny laptops with Vivienne Tam leading the way.
When gladiator shoes were first seen in 2007; it took off last year and their popularity took Fashiona by surprise. The look is growing on her especially the heels and is part of a larger trend: the focus on legs. These lovelies are part of Christian Dior’s Fall collection.
Hemlines are getting shorter and is helping Fashiona renew her acquaintance with the Thighmaster. Here is Gwyneth wearing two trends: the super high heels (7 inch” Giuseppe Zanotti’s) and a black mini-dress.

Last but certainly not least is one not related to fashion: Political Awareness. Americans came out in record numbers to vote in this year’s Presidential election and as a result Barack Obama is take the oath on January 20. Fashiona hopes that more people stay involved in the process. Fashiona’s motto: No vote, No complaint.

Congratulations! You’ve been nominated for the Lemonade Award!

Now really -
don’t you think a pair of knit knickers would be just the thing with that little black dress? (it certainly needs something!)
Thanks for stopping by the patternbook -

I bought my first pair of gladiator sandals in 92 or 93. I wore them out (and it took years ’cause I’m limited in how often I can wear sandals). I’ve been looking for the perfect pair to replace them with ever since — but they gotta be flat.
Needless to say, I’m glad they’re back in. Maybe now that I’ve got a Nordstorm nearby, I’ll find some this year.
Everyone is knocking off that style of heel. I am even supporting them by buying my own zebra print one.
I am loving that laptop, I just love the colors as it has an oriental twist to it.
