Real or Artificial - What is your tree?

Traditionally, Fashiona  puts up her Christmas tree December 1 and takes it down on January 2.  She prefers an artificial tree and here is why…

Remember the movie When Harry met Sally - Sally (played by  a pre-Botox Meg Ryan)  and Harry shopped for a tree every year and together they  carried it up to her apartment. Aww how romantic. Now remember when Sally and Harry stopped speaking and she had to find and carry the tree herself.  Heartbreaking.

Okay seriously, “real” trees are beautiful and smell great but also require a lot of time to maintain and time is always in short supply in Fashiona’s world. Not to mention that heels and tree dragging don’t mix. So she will pull it down from its resting place and decorate it this evening.  One tree - that is it.  Sis is into singlehandedly helping lift the souring economy by excessively stringing her wraparound balcony so “she can see her lights from the mall.”

Fashiona wants to know what your decorating plans are?

Here is  a rare treat for you sent by Lisa from PRPS. Are any of you fans of  The Practice and/or Boston Legal?   Premiere Props is holding a LIVE auction on Saturday December 6th at their warehouse in El Segundo, CA.  Costumes from The Practice and Boston Legal will be up for bids and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation. i love a real tree, but I agree, it’s a mess. Needles everywhere, a pain to get in and out, plus, there is the little issue of my sister being very allergic. Even the fake pine smell stuff sends her into an asthma attack.

So it’s artificial for all of us. I bought my parents a pre-lit tree a few years ago and it is so worth the money! It’s fantastic.

Normally, I’d have almost all the decorating done, but this year not yet. I am getting started today.

The only tradition I keep is using the same tree my Granny used.
Its artificial and 24 inches high. I will start decorating once my house guests leave.
Am I wrong for teasing my male neighbour for putting up his Tree with lights and decorations before Thanksgiving?

You guys are fabulous-always full of things to say.

*Kelly-Can’t have your poor sis having asthma attacks that would truly send the “little nuts” into a tizzy.

*Melissa- A real wreath, that is a good idea.

*Day- My half British friend- It is great that your Granny’s tree still looks good. Your neighbor (in American English) apparently has extra time and money so tell him to bottle both and send to me ASAP.

Funny enough you and my neighbour have a common thread- being a couple for the Holidays. He is probably so happy and in love with GF, he just could not wait. LOL! I do not think it has anything to with extra time or money. He cooked the whole Thanksgiving dinner for his new in-laws and the party did not stop until 1:30am. Maybe he just enjoys being a houseman. LMAO!

We use fake trees every single year.

We have a fake tree I guess you could say. It’s a fiberoptic. My fiance and I live in a small apartment so a big tree isn’t in the cards for us. Plus, it’s a lot of effort.
