Dec 31 is here finally…and it is New Year’s Eve and New York is ready to party.
The mercury took a little dip yesterday so Fashiona’s teeny dress original outfit won’t work with the wind chill. So she is going with a outfit equally cute but with little more fabric and works better with mile high boots. It always pays to have a plan B in most situations, fashion and otherwise.
2008 was a year of extremes, fashionable Barack Obama won the White House by a landslide and Wall Street fell apart. The economy is lifeless but women are keeping their chins up and their feet in 5 inch heels. Designers are struggling to stay afloat but still churning out opulent styles.
Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby satirized the immoral filthy rich in the 1920’s. His theory was money can and will corrupt purest of people. Perhaps so but the late Paul Newman was wealthy, handsome and a superb actor but he will be remembered as much for his movie roles as for his philanthropic work.
Fashiona has every intention of being wealthy one day…sooner than later but promises to use her power for good.
So Ciao to 2008 and Happy Birthday Topaz!!!

2008 was a banner year for beautiful celebrity babies and beautifully dressed little ones. Of course Fashiona believes that ALL babies are beautiful

But this blog is about fashion so let’s talk best dressed kids.Tom and Kate’s daughter has out-dressed her parents all year. Here is little Suri wearing Pucci…Mom’s shoe is cute too. 
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rosedale had another boy earlier this year. Here is the older one, Kingston, on his way to a holiday party via Daddy’s arms. Check out his little silver kicks.
Solange Knowles has been out forging her own career and her ex-husband Daniel Sr. is putting in his daddy time. Like father like son,in this shot down to the headband. 
Umm yes, Baby Palin was just born but he won’t make Fashiona’s best dressed list ever.Ahh to be born with a silver platinum spoon.

Legendary Eartha Kitt died on Christmas Day at the age of 81 from colon cancer.
Fashiona remembers her as the original “cougar”. Remember the scene in the movie Boomerang when she (Lady Eloise) scares Marcus (Eddie Murphy) to death by announcing that she wasn’t wearing any panties. It is a classic.
While Eartha wasn’t the original Catwoman
in the 196o’s television series Batman, she was actually the second after Julie Newmar, but she certainly made the role her own.
Eartha Kitt was born in South Carolina to an African American/Cherokee mother and German/Irish father.The same exotic looks due to to her mixed parentage that drew her endless taunts and jeers in her childhood helped her carve out her niche in showbiz. At an early age, she was sent to live in Harlem where she blossomed in dance and theater. She described herself as a sex kitten and had the flawless figure and feline voice to match.
Eartha Kitt loved to perform; she had tours dates scheduled at the time of her death. Like Josephine Baker before her, she was highly sought after in Europe and performed in several languages.
Miss Eartha Kitt exuded sex appeal but she wasn’t vulgar. True she wore cleavage bearing dresses with thigh bearing slits and vamped it up but she was still classy enough to be received at the White House. Fashiona hopes that more young girls can follow her lead.
So Eartha…Fashiona bids you adieu. Heaven just got a new kitten.
