The Transfer of Power and of Fashion Sense

A week ago today, millions of Americans from all walks of life voted for our next president.  Yesterday the Obamas visited  the White House as the guests of  the President and First Lady.

The transfer power is already in the works and Michelle Obama is preparing for the the role of the First Lady.

The two women have the utmost respect for each other but  couldn’t more different.  Laura Bush is a Southern Belle and Michelle was raised in the city.  Laura, while no wallflower, is demure compared to Michelle who is  legendary for her feisty spirit.

Mrs. Bush prefers  pastels and  designers  Michael Faircloth and Oscar de la Renta.

Michelle shows off her well-toned arms and  in general takes more fashion risks.   Michelle loves Maria Pinto and Narciso Rodriguez and Erikson Beamon pins. However Fashiona  did not like hated the dress she chose for the election night.

But Fashiona (and the rest of the nation) is looking forward to what Mrs. Obama will wear for the inauguration ball.

I love the dress in the above photo. The red and black number on election night was different I must admit. I didn’t dislike it nor did I like it but I liked the fact that Michelle Obama does her own thing.

I think the cardigan or jacket, whatever that was (I couldn’t tell) confused that dress. I heard some compare it to a lavalamp….

I do like the dress she wore to the White House, though. Very classy.
