New Yorkers take Halloween very seriously… even the adults. Fashiona counts herself among them. The Village parade is legendary…too crowded for germ-o-phobe Fashiona though.
Two years ago she was SuperGirl- see for yourself. And yes she did have fun as blonde…for a night.

Last year she was a pirate lady, lots of fun and she wore that one to work. No Mom, she didn’t wear the SuperGirl costume to work MUCH to the chagrin of the mailroom.
So what are the popular “looks” this year? Take a gander at these from Ricky’s.com
Amy Winehouse…anyone,

she really is a talented singer, Fashiona has both her albums.
You too can be Paris…in jail:

Fashiona’s personal favorite:
Sarah Palin

Couldn’t resist!! Happy Halloween. Be Safe.

Fashiona thanks all her well-wishers. Her meeting went very well last night and she has begun a new writing partnership. Of course, she will be sharing her knowledge about fashion but with a new angle she will be proposing shortly. Good news, she also met her deadline for the teaching proposal and is waiting for the next steps.
Single ladies…attention please. Men, straight men anyway, are attracted to red. Fashiona was reading an article on MSNBC.com and the basic premise is that men LOVE red. Click here to read the whole article. Men are apparently drawn to the color…like moths to a flame. It appears to be biological and plays out with other species of animal too. Yes, bright fire engine red… so ladies arm your wardrobes. Add a little red dress to your inventory of little black ones. Red is big during the Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah/New Year’s season so your choices are plentiful. Stay away from a red jersey dress though, don’t want to look(too much) like a floozy.

Anne looked stunning in Marchesa at the Oscars and you almost forget about her convicted ex-boyfriend.

Don’t forget the power of red lip gloss, nail polish and some killer red pumps… a instant boost to your flirty mode.
Already in a relationship…add some red to your lingerie as well. Just hide the remote for additional attention.
A note about Jennifer Hudson. Fashiona has been tough on her clothing choices but has the utmost respect for her talent. Prayers for her and her family as they mourn their tragic loss.

Ahh, it is a rainy chilly day in NYC…perfect for curling up with a good book or watching cheesy Lifetime movies or spending it writing. The latter works out well for Miss Fashiona who has a meeting for a long-term writing gig this evening and another major deadline to meet tomorrow. As tempted as she is to start One Fifth Avenue, she hasn’t because of the before mentioned deadlines. She is currently reading The Tsarina’s Daughter at bedtime.
Fashiona clearly loves an audience and based her blog readership, they love her too. She is a chatty writer and is getting writing opportunities (shout out to the lovely invention called Craig’s List) that play to her strengths… the more she gets the better she can support her expensive high heel habit and yes Mom, pay pesky things like rent and other mundane bills.
Fashiona is in the midst of negotiating a contract where she will be teaching a fashion class at a college in New York. She will be molding young impressionable minds and sharing her love of fashion(and getting paid as the same time) As soon the deal is done, she will spill the beans.
Oh yes, Fashiona did finally read the Esquire where Halle Berry graces the cover wearing a tie and is voted sexiest woman alive. She really glows and is the happiest she has ever been. Here’s to you, Halle. May 40 be as kind to rest of us mere mortals.

One of Fashiona’s ex-boyfriends called her the other day…not for a give me another chance rendition (those calls were made and rebuffed in years past)…. but he called about work. Before Fashiona started writing professionally, she dated writers and yes her current BF is a writer also… maybe a bit Freudian.
Anywoo, he was under deadline to write about high heels… not just any high heels but the dangerous 5 inch ones that Mrs. Beckman flits around in. She recently wore these Marc Jacobs beauties that feature a heart shape lift.

Since the before mentioned ex has not called back in a panic, Fashiona can safely assume that he made his deadline with time to spare. But his questions did get Fashiona thinking-how high is high?
Fashiona considers a high heel at least 3 1/2″ inches, everything else is child’s play. But looking at any of the latest glossies and the Victoria Secret catalog, you will see heels at 4 1/2″ and higher. Stunning on the page…drool worthy but in all honestly MUST be worn with caution. Fashiona, veteran heel wearer, can easily pull of a 4″ inch heel and run in them under duress -although not advised for a novice heel wearer.
Are these death defying shoes practical -No!
Are they work shoes-ummm not exactly!
Are they irresistibly gorgeous champagne shoes meant to be worked worn from the car/limo to dinner and back- YES, just walk slowly and with a equally beautiful man on your arm.
