Fashiona on Models

There was a funny part in  the recent Sex in the City movie where the fictional Vogue editor was trying to convince Carrie to pose in  wedding gowns for the magazine. Carrie was waffling until the editor said something to the effect of “You get professional make up and Vogue PhotoShop work.”

What fashionista  would  pass up an opportunity to  be immortalized in  the fashion bible - minus all flaws…hello?

Carrie’s eyes lit up and the deal was struck.

Now Fashiona did enjoy her recent photo shoot and picked her pictures last night.  Mr. White was fabulous and worked very  hard to show Fashiona in her best light.  What was different about this shoot than others?

Well professional models get hired and get highly paid to poise for pictures and  Fashiona is paying for the privilege-hence Lee’s patience.

If you have been following Fashiona for a while, you will remember that she was a model in college…but she did runway, much different experience.  Runway to  Fashiona is momentary flirting with the crowd and the camera.  Sashay down the runway, turn to the left, to the right, pose at the top,one more flirty smile  and exit stage left.

Now print work requires much more commitment, the make up touch ups are constant and the photographers takes hundreds of pictures( poor Fashiona has the attention span of a 4 year old according to her sis) to get  a few shotsthat make it to the editing process.

Supermodels, as the industry calls them, are good at doing both print and runaway.  Who are some of  Fashiona’s favorites:

  • Alex Wek
  • Heidi Klum
  • Cindi Crawford
  • even Naomi (between tantrums)
