Fashiona’s In-depth Review of the Italia Vogue - A Black Issue

As promised, Fashiona is back with her in-depth coverage.

Fashiona bought 2 issues: 1 with Jourdan Dunn on the cover and the other with Naomi Campbell. Jourdan is wearing a fierce mustard color hat cocked to the side. Now, Fashiona is a Southern girl and therefore partial to hats, especially wide brims.

This Vogue features a welcome variety of hats from ethnic turbans to soft hats inspired by the 1930s. If her budding Italian is correct - thanks to Rosetta Stone , cappello is Italian for hat. Fashiona’s favorite cappello of the issue is an enormous black number designed by Yohji Yamamoto and worn by Sessilee Lopez. She has that I -am- cute -and- I -know- it- but -I -will- scratch- your- eyes- if- you- cross me -look. Perfect for such a dramatic hat.

Alex claims the first picture in the spread wearing purple pants, over the knee black boots, great necklaces and a saucy black hat.

A few pages down a VERY well preserved Iman is wearing her own make-up of course, diamond snake earrings and a stunning black and white patchwork animal print dress by Balmain.

Lastly there is a photo tribute to Jody Watley, Angela Bassett, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and. Queen Latifah.

Fashiona loves that you read about her take but really pick up your own copy of this landmark issue. They make perfect gifts for those who love great photography and fashion and …black history
