Fashiona agrees that Black people are Beautiful in ALL shades and sizes. Black clothing is slimming…but ONLY IN THE RIGHT SIZE.
SWV, glad to see you but still…Alicia Keys, girl I love you but skinny jeans are for skinny girls. Enough said…moving on.
Mel B(aka Scary Spice) so glad you recovered from Eddie. She really did look stunning in her gold colored dress
.
Jennifer Hudson, loved the color but your boomies looked like they wanted to escape. Try again…
Rhianna actually looked like a good girl in her flowing yellow dress
.
Keyshia Cole tried to lady it up in a tear away number but truly looked more at home in her white jump suit with the hottie -over- the- knee- white boots.
Do you girl, do you.
Ne-Yo, digging the suit gentleman look but please ditch the gloves in black if you insist wearing white shoes.
Lil Wayne- please find some dresses for your babies
.
Gabrielle Union looked gorgeous in her goddess white dress
.
Ashanti- no, no, no leave the crazy chain dresses to Cher
.
Lil Kim, Fashiona is going to pray for you
.

Fashiona’s second homecoming was not nearly as exciting as her Freshman year. Over the summer, she was dating this guy from School that she had forgotten about until the Fall. Alas, he left her with a present
…come on people head out of the gutter…Just Mono (the kissing disease).
Of course, Fashiona did not notice for months until she kept sleeping for hours on end, losing weight and resembling a starving black Barbie doll
. So Mom(thanks Mom) came down during Homecoming Week and to save Fashiona from herself.
Funny though, Fashiona doesn’t remember seeing the guy again after that. NOW she does remember her Uncle(Dad’s elder brother) making a surprise visit to campus.
Hmm, if anyone sees the guy from room 606… tell him his stuff is still there
.
And yes, Fashiona promises to review the BET awards
. Patience is a virtue
…that Fashiona doesn’t have much of either.

It is Sophomore year and Fashiona has moved into her on campus apartment. She has 2 roommates again this year but her own room this time so things should be better right…
Well Fashiona does click with one of them. This girl(Roomy) is the eldest of 7 siblings, from the Caribbean and is a great cook. Fashiona learns a lot from her and genuinely enjoys her company. Being from a warm climate, Roomy has a great colorful summer wardrobe. But even northern Florida can get to the 30’s during the early hours in the winter months. So Fashiona guides Roomy to the art of dressing… in layers
.
Fashiona’s lessons to Roomy.
- If you need a heavy jacket then don’t wear shorts. No arguing, it really doesn’t make sense.
- Invest in a good black 3/4 trench coat. You can dress it up or down and it doubles as a raincoat.
- Dress for the coolest part of the day. Don’t be the person on the plane who dresses for their Mexican vacation and freezes on the plane
.
Roomy was okay with the first 3 lessons, but she loved her t-shirts even in the dead of winter. So Fashiona found her some cute cardigans(cotton only, Roomy would not wear wool)to match up with them.
Now the other Roommate, doesn’t seem even to enjoy herself. She is always whining about something and tying up the phone line
. Thankfully, Meanie’s wimpy boyfriend takes her away for days on end
.
C’est la vie… now back to fashion.

Fashiona would like to interrupt this walk down memory lane by reviewing the fashion movie of the year “Sex in the City” because fashion like…love is ALL about timing.
For those of you who have not seen the movie, STOP READING but kindly come back after viewing
Now as fashion obsessed as Fashiona is, in real life she is in early 30’s and by now the ultimate relationship… is the perfect accessory. Carrie and Big through all the drama do FINALLY get married in City Hall with a pretty “NO LABEL” Vintage age appropriate ivory suit. Fashiona LOVED the VOGUE photo shoot where Carrie was photographed in all the lovely wedding gowns and was gifted the best dress by Vivianne Westwood. THAT dress was nothing sort of stunning complete with the funky feather/bird hair piece which fit Carrie’s all or nothing personality and made Big’s standing her up at the altar more dramatic and painful
to watch. Personally, Fashiona liked the Vera Wang dress the best with the zillion flowers in the background. And the blue Manolos with the diamonds that she went back to “the” apartment for… to die for but Fashiona still needs the 2 carat ring to as Big put it “seal the deal.”
Modern day Fashiona saw the movie as a woman with evolved priorities would. She loved the clothes and accessories and loved the friendships with the gal pals even more. Samantha remains the wild one in every sense of the word. Charlotte stays Hampton chic even down to her water breaking.
Miranda remains the Alpha female with her dress and attitude and is STILL able to reunite with Steve.
And Carrie like, Fashiona continues loving and living life to the fullest… as stylishly as her credit cards will allow.
And remaining to true to oneself is ALWAYS IN FASHION.
