Fashiona’s Lessons Learned
As Fashiona writes her list of things to purchase for college, she inventories what she has learned thus far in life.
- Be fashionable yet appropriate for the occasion. Fashiona remembers a lovely 2 piece that she bought a few years ago. That summer the family vacation included a water park. Mom advised against her wearing it to the park but Fashiona wore it anyway. She and sis went down the water slide and unfortunately her top went up…making her the highlight for the teenage boys.
Thank God, camera phones or the Internet hadn’t been invented yet.
Adding secure 1 piece swimsuits to the college list.
- Sun protection is always in Fashion.
A few summers prior to the pool flashing episode, Fashiona and her family went to the Delta with Habitat for Humanity . Fashiona, with her natural born tan, volunteered to help finish the roof. She didn’t like the hat that Mom offered and thought the sunscreen made her look chalky
Come sundown, Fashiona was purple, peeling and in pain.
She spent the next few days with her new best friend Noxzema.
- Adding several hats, baseball and wide brims
- One hatbox to keep them from being crushed.
- Get a semester’s supply of SPF 30 (the non chalky kind)
